Dear HWU member,
The Health Workers Union has one of the lowest union due rates of any Victorian trade union.
In fact, whilst some trade unions increase their union dues annually, the HWU has made a concerted effort over a long period of time not to increase them.
We want to keep union dues as low as possible. The last time there was an increase was on 1 January 2015.
Responsible management of the union’s finances means we have been able to bypass a union due increase for 8 years.
Due to significant inflationary pressures, however, the HWU must increase member dues in 2023. This is necessary so we can continue to deliver a high standard of services and benefits to members.
From 1 January 2023, your fortnightly dues will increase by $2.49.
If you have any questions about your new rates, please email info@hwu.org.au or call (03) 9341 3300 and press 2 to be transferred to our HWU membership team.
Thank you for your continued membership of the union. In uncertain times, now more than ever, being a HWU member is a smart decision.
Because together, we are always stronger.
