PUBLIC SECTOR AGREEMENT UPDATE PAY COMING

PUBLIC SECTOR AGEEMENT UPDATE

NEW AGREEMENT NOW IN EFFECT

The new Public Sector Agreement has now come into effect. The Agreement was ratified by the Fair Work Commission on 13 April 2022 with an effective start date of 20 April 2022.

MONEY OWING FROM 1 JULY 2021

The new Agreement has an actual start date of 1 July 2021. This means that members can expect to have all moneys owing to them paid from 1 July 2021 until the present. (This will be subject to tax). The delays in having the new Agreement come into effect was due to State Government bureaucracy.

WHEN CAN YOU EXPECT TO SEE YOUR MONEY?

Public sector members should expect to see their pay rise (and money owing from 1 July 2021) in their bank accounts from the first full pay cycle after 20 April 2022. This means that the majority of our public sector members should receive their pay rise and moneys owing to them within the next fortnight.

The Victorian Hospital Industry Association has indicated that some health employers with stretched administrative resources may experience delays as they update their new systems to reflect the new rates of pay. If you do not receive your pay rise and money owing within the next fortnight, it is anticipated there may be delays by an extra (additional) fortnight for some health employees. If this is the case, contact your payroll in the first instance. Please be respectful to our admin payroll employees (they are also HWU members and in the same boat as all other employees).

WHAT IF YOUR PAY IS NOT CORRECT?

If you feel there is an error made by payroll and the new rates of pay (and/or money owing) does not reflect what is in the Agreement, again, please contact your payroll in the first instance. If there is any dispute and the matter cannot be resolved through discussion with payroll, then contact the HWU so we can work to get the matter fixed. Contact the HWU on (03) 9341 3300 or email info@hwu.org.au.
