HWU Dorevitch Vote Yes

DOREVITCH & HWU AGREE ON NEW PAY DEAL

Thank you to all Dorevitch HWU members who recently completed our members survey about the draft Dorevitch Agreement. The feedback from the survey is that the overwhelming majority of members support the draft Dorevitch workplace Agreement.

The HWU also supports this Agreement. We have worked hard to negotiate the best possible outcome for our members. We have now informed Dorevitch that we agree on your new workplace Agreement.

VOTE YES FOR THE NEW AGREEMENT

The HWU strongly encourages all Dorevitch HWU members and Dorevtich employees to VOTE YES for the new Agreement.

For your new Agreement to become law and be ratified by the Fair Work Commission, all Dorevitch employees must first vote on it. For the vote to be successful, a simple majority of employees must VOTE YES to accept the new Agreement (over 50%). ALL Dorevitch employees will get a vote, including HWU Dorevitch members. Please encourage all your work colleagues to also VOTE YES.

HOW AND WHEN DO I VOTE YES?

Voting will begin next Wednesday 30 June at 9.00am and close on Monday 5 July at 12.00pm. The vote will be by secret ballot.

Dorevitch have contracted an external company, Truevote, to conduct an electronic online vote. This is standard practice for industrial ballots.

Details of the link to participate in electronic voting website will be forwarded by Dorevitch Pathology to your email address prior to the commencement of the voting period. Postal votes will be made available to employees who do not have email access. Please make sure you take the time to VOTE YES.

You will be notified by Dorevitch and the HWU of the results of the ballot as soon as it has been counted.

SUMMARY OF PAY DEAL

The pay offer (below) exceeds the level of inflation. It keeps Dorevitch workers amongst the highest paid private pathology workers in Australia.

A 1.5% pay increase would be effective immediately in your next pay slip following the pay deal receiving a positive vote. The Agreement would have an effective start date of 1 July, 2021.

Pay increases are as follows:

  • 1.50% in the first pay period commencing on or after a positive vote.
  • 1.50% in the first pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2022.
  • 1.75% in the first pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2023.
  • 2.00% in the first pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2024.

$600 SIGN-ON PAYMENT

The Agreement also includes a $600 one-off back payment. This $600 will be paid to all full-time staff and paid pro-rata for part-time staff. For example, if you are employed part-time and working approximately 19 hours a week, you will receive 50% of the $600.  This payment applies as compensation for not having a pay increase since September 2020. Dorevitch will also pay superannuation on this one-off payment. It will be paid on the first pay day after a ‘yes vote’ for the agreement.
