Booster Shots for Victorian Health Workers

BOOSTER SHOTS FOR VICTORIAN HEALTH WORKERS

For the latest Victorian Government information in relation to COVID booster shot requirements for all Victorian health workers, go to:

https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/worker-vaccination-requirements

Under new pandemic orders that came into place recently, workers in key sectors who are already required to be fully vaccinated with two doses must get their third dose before being permitted to work onsite. This applies to all Victorian health workers.

For more information about this Victorian Government announcement, go to: https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/keeping-victorian-workers-key-sectors-safe.

Workers eligible for a third dose on or before Wednesday 12 January will have until Saturday 12 February to get their third dose.

Workers not yet eligible for a third dose will be required to get it within 3 months and two weeks of the deadline to receive their second mandatory dose. This means residential aged care workers must receive their third dose by 1 March, and health care workers by 29 March.

Workplaces must sight and record proof of vaccination.

Please note that in the latest Summer Edition of The HWU’s official newsletter, The Healthworker, an article appears in relation to COVID booster shots for Victorian Health workers. This newsletter was printed in December 2021. At the time of printing, the information in this article was accurate. Due to staff shortages within Australia Post, many HWU members have only just started receiving the newsletter in their letterbox. The information in this article is now out-of-date and no longer accurate.
