Aged Care Matters

HWU Aged Care Matters Survey (Survey is now closed)

The Health Workers’ Union (HWU) proudly represents thousands of frontline workers in aged care facilities across Victoria.

We welcome the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. It’s time that something is done to improve the working and living conditions in the aged care and community services industries.

We want to hear from current and former aged care workers - including personal care workers, cleaners, cooks and chefs, leisure, lifestyle and administration workers and enrolled nurses.

Your experiences working in aged care need to be heard. Whether it’s understaffing and inadequate resources to care for individuals in residential care facilities, inadequate training, abuse faced by staff, injuries sustained because facilities were never designed to accommodate high care residents, or below minimum employment practices – the HWU wants to share your stories!

Please take the time to participate in this important survey. It should only take 5 minutes to complete. The information collected will be used to inform the HWU’s submission to the Royal Commission. All information submitted to the Royal Commission will be de-identified.

Please note, if you would like to complete a witness statement in addition to this survey, please email our campaign team at agedcarematters@hwu.org.au.

If you have any questions, call the HWU on (03) 9341 3300.
