Health Workers Union Aged Care App is now available!

We are proud to announce the launch of our brand new Aged Care App. It contains useful tools, guides and information for workers including PCA's, Leisure & Lifestyle workers, Enrolled Nurses, Reception, Administration, Maintenance, Gardening, Cleaning, Laundry and others.

The Aged Care App has a number of useful tools and resources:

  • Enables the HWU to notify workers about important events

  • Provides information about Rights at Work

  • Allows workers to notify the Union about issues in their workplace

  • Workers can also ask the Union questions or provide feedback

  • Access to discounts and other benefits

  • You can ‘Join the Health Workers Union’ via the APP

  • Access legal services and information

  • It even has a Pedometer!

 
The HWU Aged Care App has other functions and resources that you can access, but you need to download the APP to get started.
 
The HWU Aged Care App will be updated regularly to keep members updated about activities relating to the upcoming EBA negotiations and other important information. Keep the app on your phone and keep it close to hand at work for when you need us the most.

Love your heart: A guide to support recovery and good heart health - Available in 13 languages!

The Heart Foundation has developed an easy to read guide to support patients (and their families) during their recovery from heart attack or surgery.

The book is titled Love your heart: a guide to support recovery and good heart health.

The guide is user friendly & and includes -useful questions that you can consider asking your doctor:

  • checklists
  • recovery goals and 
  • support services information. 

Love your heart attempts to address concerns & feedback from Victorian hospitals about the lack of readily available heart recovery information.

In particular, the guide has been designed for people that find reading & navigating the health system difficult & for people from CALD backgrounds.

It is a available in the following languages:  Arabic, Croatian, English, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Vietnamese, Macedonian, Maltese, Mandarin, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Turkish.
